African S Capes is run by father-daughter team Keith and Faith Versfeld. As South-African Australians, they have a deep pride in their homeland and love sharing their South African travel secrets with others.
Keith was born in Port Elizabeth, on the Eastern Cape, but found himself on the wrong side of the law when he fell in love with his wife, Sybil. Under the apartheid-era racial classification system, Keith was White and Sybil was Coloured and in the South Africa of the 1960s, their relationship was deemed illegal. In 1972, when their daughter Faith was two, the family was forced to leave the country to escape prosecution. They made a new home in Australia and Keith developed a successful business. However they never lost their love of South African travel and with the end of apartheid in 1994, the family jumped at the chance to renew their bond with their homeland.
Over the last decade both Keith and Faith have made countless trips to South Africa. When friends began to ask them for South African travel tips, they delighted in developing tailored holiday itineraries to show off the best of their country. In 2005, this passion for customising South African travel for friends expanded into a dedicated business, offering the same friendly, personalised South African travel service to all its customers.
